We hold All Members’ Constituency Labour Party (CLP) meetings at 7.30pm on the fourth Tuesday of each month, except during election campaigns, and in the months of June (when the AGM takes place – details below), August and December.
All members are encouraged to attended when able to do so, and a warm welcome will be extended in particular to new members and any members who have not been able to attend a Labour Party meeting before.
At CLP meetings, we deal with party business, discuss local and national political issues, propose and debate motions on party policy and often welcome guest speakers.
One of the CLP’s most important functions is the selection of candidates for local and parliamentary elections.
Meetings are often, but not always, held in the Church House rooms of St Mary’s Church on College Road. The full address is:
St. Mary’s Church
Parking at St Mary’s Church is very limited, although parking on College Road is permitted at certain times of day.
Bus routes: 126, 261, 314 and 336 all travel down College Road. Morgan Road is the nearest bus stop to the church.
By train: the church is close to both Sundridge Park and Bromley North rail stations.
Please note that only members may attend Labour Party meetings. Guests are not permitted to attend. Please consider becoming a member if you would like to get involved.
Throughout the year, we also run a range of events. Recent examples include a public meeting on the state of the NHS, a Young Labour social, Labour Women’s tea, and fielding team members for a quiz night held by Clock House ward in Lewisham West & Penge.
Annual General Meeting
Our Annual General Meeting is held in place of an All Members’ Meeting in June each year. At the AGM, all Executive Committee roles are up for election.
